I custom make every piece of beautiful and functional glass art. Clients buy from my studio boutiques and from art shows. They also participate in glass workshops to create their very own, special glass piece for an occasion, for a gift, or (shhh) just for themselves.
I do many special-order custom pieces. Some of the latest have been mascots for colleges, wine-and-cheese trays with the client’s name on them, and multiple hole bud vases in any color the client wanted.
Fused glass is durable. While the raw glass is brittle and sharp edged, the fused glass is velvet to the touch and does not break easily. Your piece is forever.
Jia Frydenberg started Velvet Glass in 2013 with small projects and a single kiln (7×7 inches inside diameter!). That’s tiny. I now feature 3 kilns in the studio. The largest is an Evenheat kiln which is 41 inches long and 25 inches deep. Woohoo!
I participate in fairs and shows locally, and I host at least one workshop a month in my studio. I also offer “Open Studio Boutiques” prior to major holidays. Take a look at the events calendar below to see if any of the dates work for you.
